Connecting Diversities in Music Education: Developing a Joint Master in Music Teacher Education

With this project we are developing a “Joint Master in Music Education” together with several partners in Europe. At present, in the spring of 2016, the partners, who represent very different traditions of music education studies in Europe, are as follows: Stord/Haugesund University College, the University of Rzescow, Poland, and the University of Umeo, Sweden.

The thought behind a Joint Master project is that several institutions in several countries collaborate to offer students an opportunity to develop as music educators in an international study environment including staying in different countries. The project will include joint introductory seminars for students and staff members, discussions, designing study plans, etc. as a basis for the formal establishing of a two-year master study to be carried out. The project is funded by the Norwegian Centre for International Cooperation in Education (SIU).
